To present a copy of the fourth-generation proprietor’s book, “A Piece of Sushi,” to Manager Satoru Komiyama of the Waseda University baseball team, we visited the Abe Dormitory in Higashifushimi.

The baseball team appears frequently in the book, and the relationship between the team and Yahata Sushi has continued for well over a century.

The manager welcomed us at the Abe Dormitory, and he and the fourth-generation proprietor enjoyed reminiscing about the old days.

The baseball team will soon depart for a training camp in the United States.

We hope you will win the spring league championship.

On another day, we paid a courtesy visit to Aiji Tanaka, President of Waseda University, where the fourth-generation proprietor presented him with a copy of “A Piece of Sushi.”

Even at 92, the fourth-generation proprietor never misses his daily training, and he demonstrated his signature shadowboxing for President Tanaka.

President Tanaka is also a master of karate, so he quickly stood up and received the fourth-generation proprietor’s punches.

We realize this may have been discourteous toward the president, but please forgive him in light of his being 92.

Thank you very much.

On yet another day, we also visited the local Totsuka Police Station near Yahata Sushi.

As it is a book about the local area, the fourth-generation proprietor was especially eager to present them with a copy.

Here, too, the police chief personally welcomed us and listened to the fourth-generation proprietor’s stories of the old days.

And we must not forget the judo club.

The fourth-generation proprietor deeply revered the late Yoshimi Osawa, holder of judo’s highest rank of 10th dan.

We also presented a copy to former Manager Yoshimura of the Waseda University Judo Club, who carries on the spirit of Osawa Sensei.

The journey to present copies of the book is far from over.

Finally, our sincere thanks to Hiroshi Yamamoto, an alumnus of the baseball team, for guiding us to the baseball team and the president’s office.
