New Series: Profiles of Our Past Part-Time Staff

At Yahata Sushi, we have part-time staff help us as part of our efforts to improve our service to guests.

It has been more than 30 years since part-time staff first began joining us, dating back to when the restaurant was renovated.

Many have been students at Waseda University, but they have also come from a diverse range of universities, including Sophia, Hosei, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and Tokyo Woman’s Christian University.

Some were working adults as well, including one who worked for a major airline.

Each and every one of them had a distinct personality and a great deal of humanity.

There are also many with whom we have remained in touch ever since they graduated.

For example, the person who created this website was one of our early part-time staff members.

We owe where we are today to that person.

In a series of posts over the next several installments, I would like to write about memorable episodes and amusing experiences involving these part-time staff members.

As I write, I will take care not to make individuals identifiable, so please enjoy these stories in good humor.
