A Little More Convenient

The Fifth Generation’s blog has become a little more convenient.

This year marks the 21st year since I began writing this blog.

I have already published more than 2,200 posts.

When I put it into numbers again, I am amazed that I have kept writing so many trivial things for so long.

About the restaurant, meals, and travel.

At times, I have even written about things entirely unrelated to sushi, but I can only thank all of you who continue to read despite that.

Thank you very much indeed.

Now then, as of today, August 1, the Fifth Generation’s blog has been given a small update.

Although I have written more than 2,000 articles to date, as their number grew, it gradually became difficult to find older posts.

“When was that article about that dish?”

“I would like to read that travel story again.”

Even when you thought so, there may have been times when it was difficult to find the article you were looking for.

So this time, in addition to a search function, we have made it easier to find past articles by category as well.

I would be delighted if you would revisit not only the new articles, but older ones as well.

When I reread posts from more than ten years ago, I come across many things that even I, the writer, had forgotten—events from those days and ingredients that are no longer available.

A blog may seem to do no more than preserve what was happening at a given time, but as the years pass, perhaps it gradually becomes a small record of those times.

This new blog functionality was also created by Yuya, who redesigned our website last year, with the hope of making past articles even a little easier to read and find.

With so many articles, it seems he had quite a difficult time.

There may still be parts that are not easy to use, as well as things we will improve little by little, but we hope you will bear with us kindly.

Now that the blog has been updated, perhaps it is time for a short break.

Of course not.

I expect it will continue to be full of the same trivial stories as ever, but I intend to keep writing for as long as I can—ten years from now, or even twenty.

We hope you will continue to enjoy the newly updated Fifth Generation’s blog.
